Planting Grass Seed For A Healthy Yard
It does not require much effort to grow a healthy yard but it does require a good bit of patience for your grass to reach its full maturity. Whether you are beginning a new area of grass or just filling in some bare spots in an existing lawn there are some things you can do to assure that your grass seed will grow. Each year lots of people turn their attention to their yards and start the process of planting grass seed in hope of growing a green lawn before summer. Lots of Water: The most important thing to do when you begin growing grass is that it will require a lot of water. You will definitely need a garden hose and a sprinkler or sprayer. If it does not rain each day you will need to give your lawn at least 10 to 20 minutes of sprinkling.
Do Not Walk On It: Other than forgetting to water your grass, walking on new grass is an almost sure way to destroy your efforts. New grass needs to be be left untouched and not trampled on while it is beginning to grow. Many people post signs around where they are growing grass in an effort to keep the new grass seed from being stepped on by careless people and animals.
Mow Your Grass High: Many people know that when you do cut your lawn you should use a higher setting on your lawn mower so that your grass can become thick and green. Grass needs an opportunity to grow strong and healthy before you mow it down. Sometimes weeds grow too much and in those cases you should learn how to mow tall grass.While cutting your grass does make it look cleaner, it is important to remember that you should let your grass become healthy before you cut it for the first time.
To grow a healthy yard you only need to spend two to three hours a week caring for it.
